Bomb threat turned out to be a rumor; Deer Park student being detained

Deer Park School District Superintendent Alexa Allman notified parents Tuesday morning about a bomb threat received at Deer Park High School.

According to Allman, the person who made the threat was immediately identified.

The man is now in custody and has been charged with making a bomb threat, a felony.

A custodian found the note around 1 p.m., stating that the bomb was "real" and would detonate at 2 p.m.

He said the threat was a hoax and that a search by deputies and school staff found no explosives.
